Virginia “Ginny” Marie Horton, 63, of Onset, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 20,
2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born to William Thomas Eaton and Patricia Anne (Loveday) Eaton, and raised in Middleboro, MA,
Ginny carried her hometown roots with her throughout her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, and
grandmother whose greatest joy was her family.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Thomas Horton; their son, Jimi Eaton and his fiancée, Taylor
DiGiacomo; and their treasured grandson, Oliver Eaton. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia, and
was predeceased by her father, William. Ginny will be lovingly remembered by her siblings: brother
Shawn and wife Lois Eaton; sisters Nora and husband Jason Cornell, Therese and husband Paul Ferrante,
Elizabeth and her late husband Mitch Mobley, Paula Eaton and her husband Jamie Campbell , Catherine
and husband Todd Shevlin; brother Matthew and wife Sinéad Eaton, and her many nieces and nephews.
Ginny’s warmth, kindness, and generosity touched all who knew her. She cherished family vacations at
Sagamore Beach, found joy in tending her herb garden, and stayed active walking with her neighborhood
friends alongside her beloved dog, Brody—affectionately known as “the Mayor of Nanamett Heights.”
Her strong work ethic and love for people were evident from a young age. At just 14, she began her career
in the hospitality industry as a waitress at Thelma’s, later working at Monponsett Inn, HoJo’s The
Hideaway, Huckleberry’s Chicken House, and Vel’s where she built lasting friendships with coworkers
and regulars alike.
Ginny went on to build a successful career in the printing industry, beginning at Supercoups, then
continuing at Rainbow Quality Printing and Reynolds-Dewalt, before joining Splice Solutions, where she
worked at the time of her passing.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 PM at the Middleboro
Elks Lodge 24 High St, Middleborough, MA 02346
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Ginny’s name to Tufts Cancer Center in Boston.
