Timothy James Murphy, Sr. of Middleboro died on December 12, 2018 in the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, following a brief illness. He was 58.
He was born on August 13, 1960 in Joliet, Illinois, son of the late Robert J. and Margaret Mary (McLaughlin) Murphy and was a graduate of Middleboro High School, Class of 1978. Tim was a truck driver, most recently employed at the family business, Murphy Brothers Excavating of Middleboro. An avid sports fan, Tim supported all the Boston teams and the local MMC Cougars Football. He especially enjoyed walking along the Cape Cod Canal and through Massasoit State Park with his best bud, Leland. Tim was a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish and a member of the Mitchell Memorial Club.
Devoted father of Timothy James Murphy, Jr., Jennifer L. Murphy and her fiancé, Joey Wordell, Jr. Adored grandfather of Brandon and Leland Wordell. Cherished brother of Michael, Kevin, Daniel, Gerard and Brian Murphy, Patricia Colson, Margaret Crossen and the late Robert J. and Terrence P. Murphy. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours Sunday (December 16, 2018) from 4-7 PM.
Funeral services on Monday (December 17, 2018) at 10 AM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro.
