Theresa (Terry) Condon of Kingston, MA, passed away Feb 3, 2022 at the age of 66 at
Massachusetts General Hospital after contracting the Covid virus. While the official cause of
death is the virus, Terry was compromised with several underlying medical conditions. A
fiercely self-assured, independent woman, she battled these issues valiantly all her life.
She was born and raised in Middleboro, MA, graduating from Middleboro High School class of
1973 and voted most popular of the class. Terry cherished her days growing up/living in
Middleboro and had many life-long friends. A graduate of Massasoit College, she worked in
retail, which required extensive travel in the eastern U.S., with the latter part of her career with
the Mass General Hospital Facilities Management Dept.
Terry developed Juvenile Diabetes, pre-teen, and fought with it almost all her life. With the onset
of kidney failure, and reverting to dialysis, she underwent a kidney transplant donated by her
sister, Cathy, in 2007. Then, in her quest to protect the new kidney and shed her diabetes, she
doggedly pursued a pancreas transplant, receiving one in 2014 at the University of Maryland
Medical Center in Baltimore, MD, which greatly improved her quality-of-life for a time. She
had, however, numerous other maladies, mainly as a result of her earlier diabetes, which she
struggled with the remainder of her life to the amazement of her medical staff at Mass General
who considered her somewhat of a medical miracle.
Terry was the youngest of five children of Leonard and Josephine Condon, and is survived by
her brothers Paul Condon and wife Nancy of Middleboro, MA, Leonard Condon of Alexandria,
VA, her sisters Catherine Kwesell and husband Jack of Humarock, MA, and Phyllis Martin and
husband William of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was pre-deceased by her parents and sister-in-law,
Nancy (Piver) Condon. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews, 16 grand nieces and
nephews, and one great grandniece, all of whom she enjoyed very much spending time with.
Terry leaves many wonderful, faithful friends and neighbors who helped and enriched her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 11, 2022 from 1 until 4 PM in the Mitchell Memorial Club, 29 Elm Street, Middleboro.
Terry volunteered many hours of her time to diabetes associations and veterans groups. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, www.jdrf.org, or local veterans organizations.
