Roberta J. (O'Neil) Edwards

Roberta J. (O’Neil) Edwards, age 80 years, died on June 6, 2024.  She was born on September 18, 1943 in Boston, the sixth of nine children of Daniel and Marie O’Neil. She attended Bridgewater State College. Roberta married Alan C. Edwards on July 24, 1965, and the two were married for 58 years,

Roberta worked for the Department of Environmental Protection in Lakeville for 27 years, retiring in January 2010. She loved reading and working in her garden.

Roberta was the loving mother of Donna Gavin and Mark Edwards. She was the proud grandmother of Victoria and Emily Gavin, and Alan, Rebecca, and Ellie Edwards. She is survived by her husband Alan and four siblings; Eugene O’Neil of Hyannis, Marie O’Neil of South Harwich, Frances O’Neil of Middleboro and Evelyn Lentini of Arizona. She was predeceased by her sister Alice Charlebois, and her brothers James, Timothy and Daniel O’Neil.

Calling hours are on June 13, 2024 (Thursday) from 4 until 6 p.m. in the O’Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 14, 2024 (Friday) at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church of Saint Isidore Parish.  

Interment will follow the Mass in Saint Mary Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
