Robert John Ventura

Robert J. Ventura, Bob as he was known to so many, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022 in the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home. He was husband of 60 years to his loving wife Ann M. Ventura (Freidenfeld). 

Born November 3, 1940 in Brockton, MA. He was the son of the late John J. and Helen P. Ventura of Lakeville, MA, brother of the late David A. Ventura of Lakeville, MA and sister Linda (Ventura) Plunket of Oscola Mills, PA. After serving in the U.S. Navy (1959-1965) he worked several years in the Brockton area and then opened his own business, Ventura Motors, one of his many passions. His profession brought him many acquaintances, most of whom became life-long friends. Bob enjoyed time with family and friends, annually involved in Middleborough Junior Miss program through the 1980’s into the 1990’s, local school committee member from 1977 – 1985 and on the Middleborough G&E Board 1988-2000. He looked forward to weekly treks with his local buddies in search of a good lunch, any excuse for a road trip would suffice. His dedication to his family, friends and customers was endearing and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. 

He is predeceased by his daughter Margot Simmons (Ventura) and his grandson Daniel Ventura. And is survived by his son Scott and his wife Dorein (DJ) Ventura, grandchildren Kortni Rubino and her husband Steve, Dylan Scott and his great-grandson Aidan Ventura.

Visiting hours will be Saturday May 28th, 2022 from 10 AM until 1 PM in the O’Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleborough, MA with interment immediately following in the Nemasket Hill Cemetery, 515 Plymouth Street, Middleborough, MA with immediate family and close friends.
