Robert Lincoln Todd Sr.
Robert Todd, known to most as Bob, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving
family on Thursday, February 20, 2025. He was 82 years old and survived by his wife of 63 years,
Gail Todd, 2 sons, Lincoln Todd (and wife Pamela Todd) and Christopher Todd (and his wife Julie
Todd), 6 grandchildren (Stephanie Ulrich, Bridgette Smith, Kristen Schultz, Victoria Todd,
Benjamin Todd, and Rebecca Keyes), and 9 great grandchildren (Sarah Ulrich, Grace Ulrich,
Madelyn Smith, Luke Smith, Jacob Smith, Henry Schultz, Olivia Schultz, Naomi Schultz, and Isaac
Schultz).
Bob was born on May 3, 1942 and grew up in Newburyport, Massachusetts. He obtained
a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education from Bridgewater State College.
He went on to become a teacher at West Bridgewater High School and then the Principal of the
Howard School in West Bridgewater. Bob also succeeded in many other careers, including
serving as Chairman of the Board of Bridgewater Savings Bank and founded two family
businesses. Bob and his sons opened TNT Carpentry where he was lead developer, as well as
Mansfield True Value Hardware Store which shone brightly on North Main Street for over 25
years.
Not only was Bob a very accomplished man, he was also a man of many interests. He
was a world traveler, having explored all 50 states and several other countries. He enjoyed skiing
out west with his sons and cruising near and far with his wife. He raced cars in his younger years
and settled into becoming an avid newspaper reader in his later years.
Bobs’ life was long and full, but most importantly, it was filled with love. He was luckier
than most in having met Gail at 3 years old, and taking her on their first date to bowl and roller
skate at just 13 years old. They dated for 5 years, and were married for over 63 years. They built
their home in Bridgewater with their own hands, where they raised their boys. Their home was
an anchor for family and friends to gather, celebrate holidays, and enjoy each other’s company.
He was a kind man of strength and integrity, a follower of Christ, and the head of a beautiful
family.
