Robert Nye Estey of Middleboro died at home with family on Sunday, 6-28-2020 at the age of 78.
Born and raised in Middleboro, Bob was the son of Nye and Hattie (Guild) Estey. He was the adoring husband of Margaret (Hogan) Estey whom he affectionately called "Maggie". He was also known as "Bubba" to many of his friends.
A retired mechanic for the Town of Middleboro, Bob could often tell what was wrong with an engine just by hearing it. He enjoyed smoking a great cigar on his back deck overlooking the woods. He appreciated nature and often noticed small details that others did not. He also loved to talk. A true chatterbox, he could often be found telling his family, friends, acquaintances and complete strangers detailed and hilarious stories. He was a doting owner and friend to Sammy The Cat. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by their children, Janet Walsh, Donald Estey and Thomas Estey all of Middleboro. He is also survived by their grandchildren, Kara Palley, Steven Davison and Kristen Walsh and great-grandchildren, Liam and Jennie Palley. His siblings are the late Louise Rainey of Michigan, Norman Estey of Florida and Rose Swift.
Graveside services on Saturday (July 11, 2020) at 10 AM in the Nemasket Hill Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
