Robert Paul Carter

Robert Paul Carter passed away on July 8, 2022. Bob was the loving husband of 49 years to Diane Carter. In addition to his wife Diane, Bob is also survived by his sisters Joan Silva and Joyce Mullens of Middleborough. Bob was born on August 16, 1950 in Middleborough and was a graduate of Middleborough high school.
Bob was known as a very hard worker who owned and operated a local roofing business. Bob was perhaps greater known for his volunteer work as a minister, baptized in 1967 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Bob had a deep love for people and a special knack for engaging them in conversation. He would often direct the conversation to the Bible and its promise of a Kingdom that will benefit mankind and restore the earth to paradise conditions. It was this Bible-based assurance that kept Bob fighting through his debilitating disease in order to keep telling others of this good news, even having Bible studies from his bed shortly before he passed.
In addition to his immediate family, Bob will be deeply missed by the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses which he was a part of for many years, including Middleborough, Ludlow, Fall River, and others that he visited. As part of the congregation, Bob was known for being among the first to come to the aid of others, either by personal visits with words of encouragement or by showing up with a ladder and tools to offer physical help.
Bob loved to read, learn, travel and explore. Sometimes, humorously, doing them all at the same time. Bob enjoyed the company of older and younger ones alike. Often instigating card games, board games, sports, or a picnic at a park.
