Robert G. Cady

Robert G. Cady was born on July 27, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, son of Sidney and Vera (Nichols) Cady. Bob died peacefully with family by his side in his home on Sunday, October 9, 2022.  

Bob was a resident of Middleboro since 1963. After he graduated from a Detroit public high school,  Bob hitchhiked to Boston where he attended Gordon College. While attending college in Boston he fell in love and married Joan.  He worked as a salesman for many years, mostly for US Plywood.  Bob enjoyed golf and travel, and vacationed in the Caribbean many times. He loved day trips all around New England, mostly with his son Bob, his main driver. 

Bob is survived by his loving wife Joan of 68 years; his children: Robert, Jr. of Middleboro, Sharon (Cady) Woodman of Bristol, NH, Peter of North Attleboro, Paul of Attleboro, Daniel of Shrewsbury and Carolyn (Cady) Mullins of New Boston, NH; his sister: Shirley (Cady) Paquin of Michigan; his grandchildren: Jeremy, Jason, Sandra, Amy, Brian, Anna, Caleigh, Miona, Jennifer and Jacob; many nieces and nephews. 

Bob was pre-deceased by his daughter, Deborah (Cady) Belcher of East Bridgewater and his brother, Sidney of Florida. 

In lieu of a formal service, the family invites all to attend a Celebration of Life at 7 Myrtle Street in Middleboro on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 1 until 5 PM.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NDSS, National Down Syndrome Society:  give.ndss.org. 

Bob was an advocate for his son Paul, who has Down Syndrome.
