Richard Albert "Dick" Erbeck of Middleboro passed away suddenly at home on December 5, 2021. He was 72.
Dick was born on June 11, 1949 in Brockton, son of the late Richard K. and Claire E. (LaBaff) Erbeck. Raised and educated in Bridgewater, he was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School, Class of 1967. Later, Dick relocated to Middleboro where he resided until his death. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Army (1969-1970) and was Honorably Discharged. Dick was a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders for many years.
Prior to his retirement, Dick worked as a mechanic, both automobile and auto body repair. He could fix anything. Dick was a wonderful man, quiet and never self-serving. He would happily give you the shirt off his back if needed. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson with his wife, Debbie. In addition, Dick enjoyed fishing from his boat, camping and painting. He especially enjoyed gardening, planting and creating enviable works of art. His backyard was an oasis for his grandchildren to play and enjoy. Gifted with his hands, Dick would create mechanical items solely from wood, including custom made woodmills.
