Norma Quagan Obituary

Norma Sheila Quagan (nee Wainwright), age 75, of Middleboro, passed away peacefully on
Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer.

She was born on October 26, 1949, in New Bedford to James and Norma Wainwright. A lifelong
resident of Middleboro, she spent many years working as a Sales Associate at Kmart before
running her own housecleaning business for 15 years, retiring in 2004. After retiring, Norma and
her husband enjoyed some time traveling in their RV “Phaeton” to different areas down south.

Norma’s honesty, compassion, and spirited personality made her truly unforgettable. She had a
great sense of humor and was known for her quick wit, which brought joy and laughter to those
around her. Her family was the center of her world, and she lived her life with unwavering
devotion to those she loved. Norma was selfless, always putting the needs of others before her
own, and found joy in simply being surrounded by her family. Her love was constant, her support
unconditional, and her presence a source of comfort and strength to all who knew her. She was
affectionately known as “Gram”, “Grammy”, or “DD” by her grandchildren. She loved
decorating her home, trying new recipes, and collecting Byers’ Choice Dolls.

Norma is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Donald Quagan; her sons Robert
Wainwright & Matthew Quagan  (Heather);  her grandchildren Amanda Wainwright (James
Sawtelle), Cassandra Wainwright, Robert Wainwright Jr. (Cara) & Julia Quagan; her great
grandchildren Caiden Wainwright, Noah Coughlin, Arianna Coughlin, Jeremiah Coughlin,
Christian Wainwright, Scarlett Sawtelle, & Lincoln Sawtelle; her mother Norma Wainwright; her
sisters Gail Atwood & Suzanne Bennett; her brothers David Wainwright & Russell Wainwright
and her sisters-in-law Judy Wainwright, Vivian Wainwright & Betty Wainwright. She was
predeceased by her father James Wainwright; her brothers Walton “Skip” Wainwright, Richard
Wainwright, George Wainwright, Arnold Wainwright, Roger “Butch” Wainwright & Jimmy
Wainwright; her sisters Marie Covell, Cheryl Moquin, Joan Crockett, and her chosen brothers
Sonny and Roy Letourneau.

She will live forever in our hearts.
