Nanette Marie DesRosiers Vickery the woman with a contagious smile. An ambassador of good
will, giving back to the community and charitable causes. She was the very proud President of
the Middleboro Emblem Club #98. A patriotic soul who adored the red, white, and blue, along
with veteran needs and support along with placing flags at the cemetery in their honor. The
patriarch of her family. Nanette loved hats that made a statement, the bigger the better. She
loved to cook, well known for her American chop suey, as well as enjoyed her occasional fish
bowl. She would eagerly partake in parades with floats, and boy, she knew how to work a
microphone. She equally enjoyed Christmas and making festive centerpieces. She loved her red
convertible, even in the winter with the heat on and gloves adorned.
Nanette was the adored mother of Audra Katherine Chapman (husband Michael E. Chapman).
Beloved Mimi to Alexandra (Allie) Katherine Peterson. She was the oldest sister to Catherine
(Nanny) H. DesRosiers, Damon J. DesRosiers, Alfred “Dewey” DesRosiers, Kevin A. DesRosiers
and the late Brett M. DesRosiers. Daughter to the late Alfred V. DesRosiers and Catherine
(Kitty) Allen DesRosiers. Nanette leaves behind her significant other, John O’Leary. Her late
long-term partner (a stepfather to Audra), Edward (Teddy) Crossman. We must mention her
long-term four legged companion, Theodore, her dog who will join her, as well; she leaves
behind her bird, Ichabod. She leaves a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and a
host of close friends who will miss her dearly.
The family will honor Nanette’s life in a private service and then will have a Celebration of Life
at the Middleboro Elks Club, 24 High Street Middleboro, MA off I-495 Exit 4 at Noon, Friday,
September 24, 2021.
