Meredith Ardelle (Wixon) Nickerson

Meredith Ardelle (Wixon) Nickerson of West Bridgewater, a former resident of East Bridgewater for 43 years, died on August 26, 2020 following a brief illness.  She was 83. 

She was born on May 29, 1937 in Brockton, daughter of the late Walter F. and Grace Etta (Wilber) Wixon.  Meredith was a graduate of Whitman High School, Class of 1955.  She worked for three years at Regal Shoe prior to her marriage.  A homemaker, Meredith was devoted to her family and her church.  She and her husband, Nick were foster parents for over 25 years.  She was member of the Faith Chapel Assembly of God since 1989, where she was active in the Women's Ministry.  Meredith was self-taught on the keyboard, studying hymns and playing on Sundays for the church.  In addition, she was a wonderful cook. Her specialties included dumplings, brownies and bread pudding. Meredith enjoyed making crafts and attending yard sales. She was a talented seamstress, creating and altering wedding dresses for family and friends.  

Beloved wife of Ellsworth L. "Nick" Nickerson.  Devoted mother of Stephen E. Nickerson of Thompson, Connecticut, Cynthia L. Haslam of West Bridgewater, Susanne J. Duong of Brockton and Timothy J. Nickerson of Bridgewater.  Sister of the late Wilbur and Lyman Wixon.  Also survived by 11 cherished grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday (August 30, 2020) at 1 PM in the Faith Chapel Assembly of God, 340 Pleasant Street, Bridgewater.  For those unable to attend in person, a live stream video is available.  Please visit the church website:  www.fcagbridge.org

Interment will be at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery.
