Mark Paul Hayes, 58, of Middleboro provenance, died unexpectedly on Saturday morning April 17th at his home in Bridgewater, Ma. Born in Portland, Maine, he was the son of Paul Gregory Hayes of Lakeville (formerly Middleboro) and the late Janet Ruth (Owen) Hayes, who predeceased him in February of 1997.
Mark was a graduate of Middleboro High School, Class of 1981, and alumnus of Bridgewater State College, graduating in 1987 with a degree in Physical Education. He was a family man who loved his parents and daughters most. He loved sports and history, and would often recall with fondness his days coaching high school football. He later became a police officer out of a sense of community and a desire to help others, wherein he found his calling.
Mark was predeceased by a younger brother, Daniel Hayes, who passed away in October of 2015. He is survived by his father, Paul Hayes and his wife Deanna Simmons-Hayes of Lakeville; his two daughters, Sarah Hayes and partner Zachary Pelletier of Rockland, Rachael Hayes and husband Justin Stephens of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Marybeth and her husband Bruce Richardson of Middleboro, Maureen and her husband David Ng of Pembroke; his two nieces, three nephews, many cousins and beloved extended family. He will be proudly remembered and missed.
