Lynn Corsini Obituary

Lynn Anne Corsini, 64, of Lakeville, died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family on 24 May 2023. Born in Zama, Japan, to the late Andrew C. and Yvonne (Grenier) Corsini of Lakeville, Lynn spent her childhood in Middleboro, MA before moving with her family to Cumberland, RI where she attended and graduated from Cumberland schools.

After earning a degree in marketing from Providence College, Lynn spent 40 years living in Melrose, MA and working for the majority of her career with AT&T in Boston. She later worked with smaller finance companies, the local Y, and a neighborhood day care.

An ardent reader, Lynn’s gifted hands provided many with a handmade scarf, quilt, or needlework. People all around the country can attest that the first holiday card they received each year was from Lynn. She never missed sending a birthday or anniversary card to her large family and took extra delight in celebrating and doting on her numerous nieces and nephews. When she wasn’t making a handicraft while rocking out to Queen or the Beatles, she was honing her skills as a detective watching and reading murder mysteries. She loved Disney, and included all those who knew her in her own magic kingdom of love and kindness.

After meeting William A. Volpe (Billy) in a community Tai Chi class, Lynn and Billy achieved the perfect yin yang balance for over 25 years, supporting each other through all their endeavors including most recently moving back into the family home in Lakeville. They loved simple times and good meals together as well as traveling and experiencing new things.

Lynn was elegant and fearless despite the cancer raging through her until the very end. Her kindness and grace touched so many people. Her family is indebted to all the health care providers who cared for Lynn throughout her cancer, who often commented on Lynn being one of the most polite patients they ever cared for. The family is indebted to all the many dear friends and family, who provided comfort through everything from food prep and care assistance to household chores and laundry during Lynn’s final weeks at home.

In addition to Billy, Lynn is survived by her brother Bryan (Heather) Corsini of Nokomis, FL; brother David Corsini of Greenville, NC, and brother Stephen (Liz) Corsini of Newberry, SC, and her late brother Andy’s wife, Missy Watson of Damascus, AR; 18 nieces and nephews, 16 grand nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and one very special Aunt.

In lieu of flowers, trees can be planted in her memory through the O’Neill Funeral Home website or donations made to your local animal shelter, the National Brain Tumor Society, or Tufts Medical Center.

Visitation is on Friday, June 9 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at O’Neill Funeral Home in Middleboro with a service to immediately follow. Interment will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Middleboro.
