Leslie Westgate, Sr. Obituary

Leslie A. Westgate, Sr. passed from this life to spend eternity with his Lord Jesus Christ on January 11, 2021 after a long illness. He was the son of Nelson and Beatrice (Burnham) Westgate. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his his beloved wife of 32 years Shirly and their son Leslie, Jr. and his wife Lynne.

Also pre-deceased by his siblings: eldest brother Amos Maddox, Jr., Lawrence W. Westgate, Sr. and his baby brother Bruce N. Westgate.

He worked for Hathaway Construction as a foreman for many years. He was also a self-employed carpenter and a jack of all trades and most often worked six days a week to care for his family. He raced his car at the Golden Spur Racetrack in Lakeville. Played guitar in a local country band, mostly for weddings and family functions. He loved camping, yard sales and watching car races and wrestling. He attended church for the biggest part of his life, these past 28 years with his present wife Linda. He never lost his faith in God and his love of Jesus even during his long illness. He often quoted Jesus who said: "I will never leave you nor forsake you". And those of us who loved him have Blessed Assurance that he is in the presence of Christ. (He is probably already at work remodeling mansions).

He is survived by his loving wife Linda (McGrath), his son Gary and his wife Linda and his daughter Holly and his blended children Lisa and her husband Steven, Scott, Ellen and her husband Guy, Shereen and Shannon.

Also his grandchildren Gary, Jr., Kristopher and his wife Sarah, Leslie III and his wife Jennifer, Audra and her husband Shayne, Jennifer and her husband Leon, Michael and his wife Lindsay, Stephanie, Julie, Cherin and her husband Dan, Kaylia, Braylin, Gabriella, Jason and Matthew. Great-grandchildren Ellie, Austin, Jack, Michaela, Ainsley, Sarah, Veronica, Kevin, Isabella, Hunter, Cory, Nathan, Aiden and Bailey. Also two great-great-grandchildren Mason and Malia and many nieces and nephews.
