Joanne R. Cranston of Middleboro died on December 20, 2023. She was 59.
She was born in Wareham on November 30, 1964 the daughter of the late Henry E. and Mary E. (Barksdale) Cranston and raised in Acushnet. As a young woman Joanne moved around before settling in New Bedford. She dedicated her life to raising her daughter, Crystal until she found love with Roger. She loved family, the ocean, Harley’s, tattoos, and rock & roll. Joanne had a vibrant personality and a penchant for sticking up for the underdogs. Joanne overflowed with love for those in her life.
She is survived by her fiancé Roger “Butch” Wainwright, her daughter Crystal Cranston, her step-daughter Brittany Wainwright, her step-son Kyle Wainwright. Grandmother “Mimi” of Kaleb, Kane, Khaleesi, Khalea Ferrier. Sister of Katherine (Cranston) Waddington of Fairhaven, the late husband Alan Waddington, Henry Cranston of Acushnet and his wife Nancy Cranston, Mary Ellen (Cranston) Herman of Acushnet and her late husband Joel Herman. Also survived by her nieces and nephews: Shannon (Roderiques) Wilson, Amber Roderiques, Robert Roderiques Jr and his wife Danielle Roderiques, Jessica Herman, her longtime boyfriend Christopher Costa and Caitlyn Herman; grandnephews: Brendan Wilson, Nicholas Wilson, Nathan Wilson, Shane Roderiques and Trey Roderiques; great-grandnieces: Norah Costa, Vivienne Wilson and Isabella Roderiques.
In accordance with her wishes, funeral arrangements are private.
