Joan Marie Stimpson passed peacefully in her home on September 12, 2021 surrounded by her 
family.  
She was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on September 7, 1942, daughter of the late Herbert 
and Alice (Williams) Sayers.  

Joan was the loving mother of Lori Pomerleau and Lynn Fernandes as well as the proud 
grandmother of Kristy Pomerleau, P.J Fernandes, Allyssa Papathanasiou (Fernandes) and her 
husband Vasili Papathanasiou.  

In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Joan loved going to yard sales, getting 
seafood in Plymouth with her daughters, and scratch tickets. Joan enjoyed gardening and yard 
work and always had a project to do around the house. She also loved spending time with her 
granddog Lucy.  

We will be gathering to share some of our favorite memories, our stories, to laugh, to cry, and 
remember a wonderful person who will be greatly missed.  

A Celebration of Joan’s life will be held on Sunday September 26, 2021 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm 
at the Lakeville Country Club, 44 Clear Pond Rd. Lakeville, MA 02347.
