Joan Ellen (Surette) Griffin

Joan Ellen (Surette) Griffin of Halifax passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023.  She was 80.  

She was born on February 21, 1943 in Revere, daughter of the late John and Mary (Alexander) Surette.  As the eldest of 10 children, Joan had the responsibility with raising and caring for her younger siblings, especially her sisters.  A generous and giving person, Joan was very artistic and creative.  In addition, she was an amazing cook, enjoyed traveling with her husband to Las Vegas and treasured her Catholic faith.  Following her retirement, Joan moved to Cotuit and later Middleborough to be closer to her family.  Joan loved her family, and that love was returned. She continuously sacrificed and provided an exceptional life beyond the imagination. She adored her grandsons and was the "best Nana ever".  

Beloved wife of the late Francis Griffin.  Devoted mother of Mary Feight and her husband David; Cynthia Figueroa and her husband Joey.  Sister of Jacqueline Niederhauser, Nancy Surette, Robert Surette, James Surette, Leslie DeStefano, Michelle Surette, the late Dolores Jourdan, Linda Ostrowski and John Surette.  Cherished grandmother of Jose Figueroa, Timothy and Ryan Feight.  

Visitation on June 8, 2023 from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church of Saint Isidore Parish, 340 Centre Street, Middleboro.
