Jeffrey Gorman Obituary

Jeffrey R. Gorman, 64, of Middleboro, passed away peacefully in his home on January 5th. Born and raised in South Weymouth, he was the son of Marjorie Newton of Florida and the late John F. Gorman. He was the loving husband of Patti (Powers) Gorman for 42 years; caring father of Jamie Gorman of Somerville, Patrick Gorman and his wife Nicki of Plymouth, and Dr. Christopher Gorman of Somerville; devoted "Grampy" to Lincoln and Finn Gorman.

Jeff is also survived by his sisters Jacqueline Bickner of Green Cove Springs FL, Joanne Alcorn and her husband Kenneth of Orange Park FL, Jean Gorman of West Bridgewater, and Janice Ethridge and her husband Al of Jacksonville FL; his brother, John Gorman of Lakeville; predeceased by his brother Jay Gorman. He also leaves many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

For 48 years Jeff worked at South Shore Hospital where he will be missed by his many friends and colleagues. Raising his family in Kingston, Jeff was a smiling fixture on the sidelines of Youth and Silver Lake athletics as both supportive dad and coach. His quiet, calm demeanor and witty sense of humor drew people to him and left a lasting impression. “Chef Jeff” loved whipping up a fabulous feast for friends and family. He was a passionate music lover with eclectic taste, enjoyed golfing, and was an avid Boston sports fan.

At his request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Shore Health Foundation, 55 Fogg Road, South Weymouth, MA 02190-2455, or online at SouthShoreHealth.org/Evergreen.
