Jacqueline T. (Thadeio) Hosley of Middleboro died peacefully on April 18, 2021. Jackie was 75.
She was born on October 20, 1945 in Taunton, daughter of the late Manuel S. and Flossie E. (Silva) Thadeio and was a graduate of Taunton High School. She resided there until her marriage to Stephen "Steve" Hosley on May 17, 1975. Together they purchased a house on Cherry Street in Middleboro, where they resided until Steve retired in 2004, relocating to Oak Point.
After college she was employed as a bookkeeper for Ernie Tassinari, an Accountant in Plymouth. She then worked as a bookkeeper at a Middleboro car dealership (Cannon Buick) for many years before starting her own business in Middleboro called Accurate Accounting, providing bookkeeping and income tax return preparation services. She owned that business for over 40 years before selling the business and became somewhat semi-retired. She continued right up until her death working part-time doing bookkeeping and income tax preparation. When she started Accurate Accounting she had to come up with a name and thought by utilizing the letter "A" as the first letter in the business name people looking in the yellow pages would see her business first (back when yellow pages were actually used).
Jackie was very artistically creative, and those skills lead her to teach ceramic classes which she has done for over 40 years. She began teaching ceramics in her tiny cellar on Cherry Street. When they moved to Oak Point she expanded her class size by utilizing the clubhouse, and also did classes at the Council on Aging. She enlisted the assistance of her husband Steve in the ceramic business to do the heavy lifting, electrical connections for various molds, and firing up the kilm. She also created various other handmade gifts and had a flair for flower arrangements (until she developed pollen allergies).
Jackie certainly had the "gift of gab", as anyone who knows her can attest to.
She recently served as President of the Pet Club at Oak Point, and is an avid dog lover. She naturally spoiled her dog "Starr", who has no shortage of doggie toys around the house, and she gets professionally groomed more often than people do.
Beloved wife of Steve and sister of the late Robert Thadeio.
Funeral services will be private.
