Francis "Jack" Hoder, 73, of Middleboro, formerly of Pembroke, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2021 surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
He was born on April 13, 1948 and was the son of Anita I. (Gardner) Hoder and Frank J. Hoder.
Jack graduated from North Quincy High School and attended Fisher Junior College. He was an insurance broker for many years before retiring due to his declining health.
He enlisted in the US Army in 1967 and was a decorated Vietnam Veteran, serving with the First Air Calvary Division. Being an avid sportsman, one of Jack's favorite pastimes was coaching Pembroke Little League and basketball for many years. He enjoyed family vacations to his favorite spots on the coast of Maine.
Jack loved watching his grandaughters at their dance events and soccer games.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet (Stracuzzi) Hoder, his son Scott and his fiance, Patricia Gieselman of Madison, Maine, his daughter, Mary Beth Joyce and her husband, Michael Joyce of Halifax and his beloved grandchildren, Ryleigh and Ayla Joyce and Kyle Gieselman. Jack is also survived by his sisters, Gail Brown of Port Charlotte, Florida, Barbara Roopenian of Gloucester and his half brother, John Hoder of Boston.
Funeral services will be private.
