Helen May Bartol, formerly of Middleboro, MA, died peacefully at the age of 96 following
a period of declining health.
She was born on October 17, 1928, in Holden, MA. Helen was one of nine children in the
Luthman family and resided in Worcester, MA, where she attended local schools.
Married to the late Albert E. Bartol, and beloved mother of John Bartol and his wife Linda
of West Bridgewater, MA; Pamela Cavanaugh and her husband William of Conway, SC;
Ronald and his wife Debora of Stockton Springs, ME; and the late Darrin Bartol. Also
survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Upon her marriage on January 8, 1947, to Albert E. Bartol, she resided in Quincy, MA,
before purchasing a house in Abington, MA. The family later moved to Whitman, MA.
While living in Quincy, Helen loved frequently walking to nearby Wollaston Beach with her
first born son, John.
Prior to her retirement, Helen worked as a CNA at Brae Burn Nursing Home in Whitman,
MA. She enjoyed her work and was very compassionate to the residents.
In addition, Helen volunteered at the Whitman Senior Center. She enjoyed eating at
Millie’s Restaurant in town, vacation trips to Maine and New Hampshire, gardening, and
was an avid walker. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of a local bowling league.
Helen was an active member in the church.
She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She will be remembered as always
willing to help those in need.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
