George B. Bassett, Jr. of Lakeville died suddenly on February 17, 2020 in Morton Hospital. He was 55.

He was born on May 16, 1964 in Wareham and was a graduate of Old Colony Regional Vocational High School. George worked as a machinist at the Louis M. Gerson Company for more than 26 years. He enjoyed music, fishing and especially clamming.

Beloved husband of Jo-Ann (Choat) Bassett. Father of Glenn J. and Dean A. Bassett. Son of Janice L. (Valle) and the late George B. Bassett. Brother of Mary Melanson and her husband, Scott. Uncle of Kassandra Noble. Also survived by 2 grandchildren, several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
