Francis Griffin Obituary

Francis Michael Griffin of Plymouth died peacefully at the age of 84 on January 26, 2022.

He was born in Boston on November 19, 1937, son of the late John and Catherine (Curtin) Griffin. He is survived by his wife, Joan; daughters, Mary Feight and her husband David; Cynthia Figueroa and her husband Joey; grandsons Timothy, Ryan and Jose; his brothers Tom, Jim and late brother Johnny; their spouses, several nieces and nephews.   A veteran, Frank served in the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged. Frank worked as a Boiler Welder at the Boston Edison Company, retiring early and moving with Joan to Cotuit in 1996 where they enjoyed their visits to the beach. While there, Frank worked part-time at Cotuit Liquors for several years before leaving Cape Cod in 2006.

We all have a story or two about Frank.  A stand up guy, he was a true man's man.  An avid fisherman, he took his boat out as often as he could and loved chasing those Bluefish.  Frank never threw anything away.  In fact, he came home from work one day with a three legged ladder he found in the trash and was determined to fix it.  Joan was beside herself and his Boston Edison carpool buddies could not stop laughing.  If you asked Frank for his help in fixing something his reinforcement in repair guaranteed the job would last a lifetime.  He enjoyed playing horseshoes and bowling and was a contestant on Candlepins for Cash in the early 1970's.

Frank's greatest accomplishment was providing and caring for his family.  He loved his family, and that love was returned.  He adored his wife, cherished his daughters and treasured his three grandsons.  He continuously sacrificed and provided an exceptional life beyond the imagination.
