Francis Carter Obituary

Francis E. (Bo) Carter of Middleborough and formerly of York, Maine, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on August 3, 2021.

He had a full life, serving with the Seabees in the Pacific during World War II where he found his love for all things mechanical. Bo returned from overseas and using his unique attention to detail and demanding perfection became a painter and master wallpaper hanger.

He worked for thousands of people in their homes and worked across New England for the most discerning customers, before retiring to Maine to return to his passion of restoring antique cars.

He had five children; Diane Carter (deceased) of Casco Maine, Denise Nicolo of Revere, Wayne Carter  of West Yarmouth, Peter Carter of South Yarmouth and Erik Carter of Middleboro, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was active in the VFW having held the office of president, the American Legion, the MOAL’s (Maine classic car  club) as well as the Fighting 73-rd Seabees reunion. He will be missed by all.

A wake was held on August 15, 2021 in the O’Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street, Middleboro.
