Edward Frank Udas of Oak Point died peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on January 13, 2022. He was 82.
Ed was born on January 6, 1940 in Hartford, Connecticut, son of the late Walter and Jennie (Wrobel) Udas. He attended local schools. A veteran of the United States Navy, he proudly served as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. His service totaled 35 years of active and reserve duty as a hull technician and a recruiter. Prior to retirement, he worked as an instrument maker at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Ed's personality was magnetic. He loved people and his love was returned. A sweet and genuine person, he radiated a positive light. He had numerous hobbies and was a talented woodcarver, and skilled craftsman. Ed enjoyed playing billiards, cards, painting and sketching and most especially enjoyed dancing with the love of his life, Marie. Ed and Marie experienced great joy in discovering the beauty in our world through their shared passion for adventure and travel. An amateur magician, he will be remembered as the magic maker at his grandchildren's birthday parties.
Adored husband of Marie (Schiavo) Udas. Cherished father of Kenneth E. Udas and his wife, Alma of Moscow, Idaho, Donna A. Laitinen and her husband, Kevin of Kingston. Loving grandfather of Alexander, Calvin, Dylan, Jasmine, Caitlin and Max.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 13, 2022 (Sunday) from 2 until 5 PM in the Oak Point Club House, 200 Oak Point Drive, Middleboro.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
