Doris F. (Ouellette) Foye, died on March 26, 2021 at age 95 at the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home in Middleboro.
She was the daughter of the late Edward J. Ouellette, Sr and Eva F. Carr. She was born in Middleboro and graduated from Middleboro High School class of 1943.
She worked as a telephone operator in Middleboro after graduating from high school and married Donald Foye after he returned from WWII in 1945. She and Donald were happily married for 70 years before his death in 2015.
She was a stay at home mom and after raising her two sons, she worked part time at Kurt’s Lunch on Thatcher’s Row, Shirley’s Dress Shop and then retired as Director of Volunteers at Lakeville Hospital.
She and her husband spent much time touring all over the country in their Model T’s. She was a life member and past secretary of both the South Shore Antique Auto Club and the Old Colony Model T Club.
She loved reading, knitting, crafts, and travelling with her husband and friends. They both have travelled all over this country, to Europe and from the Arctic Circle to the Amazon River.
No matter whatever else she did, she always considered caring for her family and her home to be her greatest duty and achievement.
She is survived by her sons Dennis and Douglas and his wife Jackie, 4 grandsons, Timothy, Matthew and his wife Karen, Jeffery and his wife Jill, and Michael and his wife Kayla along with 9 great granddaughters, Amanda, Emily, Rachael, Evalyn, Julia, Lillyanne, Allyson, Abigail and Lena and one great-great grandson, Edward Davison, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Edward J. Ouellette, Jr.
Friends may call on Saturday (April 3, 2021) beginning at 9 AM to the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro. A graveside service will follow at 11 AM in Nemasket Hill Cemetery.
