Donald F. Wilbur of Middleboro passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on April 12, 2023 in Tobey Hospital, Wareham. Don was 86.
He was born on January 30, 1937 in Ludlow, son of the late Jeff and Priscilla Goulart. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 until 1958. Don worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Works until he retired in 2000. He and Carol, his wife of 45 years, enjoyed their retirement years. They traveled and especially loved cruising to a wide variety of destinations. Don enjoyed car racing, gardening and tinkering around his home. He was a Patriots fan and a 40 year season tickets holder. Following Carol's death in 2019, Don was devastated and relied on the love and support of his family. He spent more time at his granddaughter's home watching Abby, Joe, Theo and Trevor grow up. This brought Don great joy.
Beloved husband of the late Carol A. (Brennan) Wilbur. Devoted father of Debra (Wilbur) Meunier and her husband, Steven of Taunton, David Wilbur and his wife, Bonnie of Norwich, CT, Christopher Park of Rochester and the late John "Jay" Wilbur. Loving grandfather of Lauren (Meunier) Sampson and her husband, Benjamin of East Taunton, Lindsey (Meunier) Grady and her husband, Zachary of Taunton, Darrel Young of Baltic, CT, Steven Young and his wife, Katelynn of Norwich, CT, Rhiannon Wilbur of North Providence, RI. Also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours on April 20, 2023 (Thursday) from 4 until 6 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro. A funeral service will follow at 6 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Burial will be private.
