Diane D. Phipps of Kingston passed away December 31, 2022 following a period of declining health.
She was born on November 20, 1931 in Brockton, the daughter of the late Evelyn (Cary) Phipps and Russell Eldon Phipps. Diane attended Brockton schools and graduated from Bridgewater State College. She was a past member of the Silver Lake Unitarian Fellowship. She worked as an operator for the telephone company for many years before taking an early retirement. Diane loved her time with family and friends, walking the beach at Plymouth and sailing – an enthusiasm she shared with her companion Robert as well as friends. An avid Scrabble player, reader and follower of the news, Diane had a wide-ranging interest in the events of the world.
Diane was also predeceased by her beloved companion, Robert Siefert of Kingston and Duxbury, her sister Joyce Farwell Eaton of Middleboro and her brother Winston Phipps and his wife Patricia of Hanson.
She is survived by her sister Gail Twomey of Middleboro, her niece Tasha Wright and her husband Steven and great-nephews Sean and Cole of Halifax, niece Suzanne (Phipps) Pynn and her fiancé Peter Brown of Cranston, RI and nephew Scott Phipps and friend Sue Grigoreas of Hanson.
In Diane’s last few years, the addition of assistance from the staffs of Old Colony Elder Services and Home Instead and subsequently that of the kind staff at Wingate at Silver Lake, enhanced her daily life and were much appreciated.
Arrangements are private and will take place in late Spring.
