Diane Carter Obituary

Diane Mae Carter, 80, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. Diane was born and raised in Middleborough Massachusetts and was a graduate of Middleborough High School in 1961.

Diane was pre-deceased by her husband of 49 years, Robert Carter and survived by family and many friends including two siblings, Charlotte Howe and James Diburgo. Although Diane did not have children of her own, many claimed her as a mother, aunt, and grandmother. This came from her close ties with the Jehovah’s Witness community. Diane was baptized in 1955 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and spent many years in the local Middleborough congregation. In addition, Dianne spent time in the Ludlow and Fall River Portuguese congregations.

Diane loved to entertain, cook and bake for friends and family. She was regarded for her delicious meals, desserts and magazine cover worthy  presentations. Diane, along with her husband Bob were well known for organizing get togethers, trips and outings with young and old alike. Dianne loved to decorate, play cards and games, watch the Boston Red Sox, and travel.

Diane devoted countless hours volunteering to preach and conduct Bible studies with those interested in its message. It was her faith in the Bible‘s promise of future paradise conditions on earth, under God‘s Kingdom, that gave her hope and brought on her trademark wide smile.

Despite battling Parkinson’s disease for the last 14 years of her life, Diane never passed on an opportunity to speak of Bible truth and relate the joy that she had from a relationship with her God Jehovah. Diane will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but definitely not forgotten, as we look forward to a joyous reunion with her in God‘s new world!
