David Singer Obituary

David P. Singer, of Middleboro, Massachusetts, formerly of Pembroke, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born on May 9, 1938, and was the much loved son of the late Morris and Lillian Singer. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda, and his sister, Sandra Singer.

Raised in the West End of Boston, David attended Boston Latin High School where he was an active member of the ROTC and developed a strong work ethic that guided him throughout his life. He was a proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard, a service he carried with honor throughout his life. His dedication to service continued well beyond his military years through countless hours of volunteer work. In retirement he generously gave his time to the Young Marines, the Council on Aging in Middleboro, and was a devoted member of both the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. Of all his volunteer efforts, David was most proud of his service with the Honor Guard of Middleboro, where he honored fellow veterans with dignity and respect.

On July 10, 1960, David married the love of his life, Linda. Together they shared more than 60 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, devotion, and family. Their bond remained a defining part of David’s life.

David was a man of many talents and interests. He was a voracious reader, a skilled woodworker, and someone who could build or fix just about anything. His intelligence, creativity, and problem-solving spirit were evident in everything he did.

He is survived by his children, Peter Singer and his partner Linda of Carver, Wendy and her husband John Gillen of Halifax, and Heather and her husband Kevin McCormack of Pembroke; and his cherished grandchildren, Amanda and her wife Heather, Quinn and his wife Emma, Nathaniel, Connor, Tyler, Madison, Cole, and Melanie.

David’s legacy is one of service, craftsmanship, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held on February 3rd at the First Baptist Church, 111 Plymouth Street, Middleboro  at 11:00 a.m.
