Clinton Henry Follett of Middleboro died peacefully on January 10, 2026 following a period of declining health. He was 80.
He was born on May 22, 1945 in Brockton, son of the late Welden Franklin Follett, Emma (Daniels) Follett-Hensley and Howard Hensley.
He served in the United States Marine Corps ("Hoorah", "Semper Fi") during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Follett served as the Head Landscaper of the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. A veteran himself, this position afforded him an opportunity to honor other veterans by maintaining a peaceful and dignified property, thus helping their families to heal.
Devoted husband of the late Frances Lea (Hathaway). Beloved father of Jolie Follett of Middleboro, Tami (Follett) Gabriel-Noble and her husband, Mark of Middleboro, Derek Follett and his partner, Brittany of Taunton, Brett Follett and his wife, Sarah of Middleboro. Loving grandfather of Daryl Mackiewicz and his wife Jaime, Dustin Mackiewicz and his wife Cassie, Darian (Mackiewicz) Spinetto and her husband Jake, Danielle, Darius, Danica Mackiewicz, Dylan Gabriel and his wife Taryn, Sean Khamden Gabriel and his wife Jessica, Isaiah Gabriel and his girlfriend Carly, Naomi Noble, Caleb, Owen, Autumn and Leo Follett. Great-grandfather of DJ, Matthias, Caidence, Isabelle, Dallas, Lincoln, Mia, Jack, Oliver and Sawyer. Brother of Jim Follett and his late wife Julie of Florida, the late Frank Follett and his wife Mary of Florida, the late Joann (Follett) Faircloth and her husband James. Also survived by Donna Boston (the mother of Jolie) Jane Webb (the mother of Tami, Derek and Brett) nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his family, in which he spoke of all the time, he loved to talk to anyone and anywhere, literally, but he was just so proud and would just beam with pride telling stories of his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and that love was returned. Friends and family often describe him of being jolly and always smiling, it was often said he would give the shirt off his back for someone in need.
He especially enjoyed bologna and swiss cheese sandwiches on wheat bread with dijon mustard, with a side of Lays potato chips and sweet pickles and plenty of Diet Pepsi. He was passionate about landscaping and gardening. He knew all the scientific names for every single tree and flower. He loved his cats, Pippi, Sweet Pea (aka Baby) and Lucky, his fishtank, Mah Jong and lots of coffee, camping and fishing, watching the Patriots and the Red Sox. Some of his lovable traits included jokes and fun facts: "What color is the Golden Gate Bridge", watching the news, movies, and crime shows as loud as the television could go and listening to the oldies on his Alexa.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 13, 2026 (Friday) at 10 AM in the Central Congregational Church, 2 Webster Street (corner of South Main Street) Middleboro. A luncheon will follow.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Mr. Follett will be interred in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
