Charlotte Evelyn (Veronesi) Gatewood

Charlotte Evelyn (Veronesi) Gatewood, age 93, of Woburn, died on November 11, 2025.

She was born on October 23, 1932 in Brockton, daughter of the late Alfred A. and M.
Charlotte (Leach) Veronesi. She grew up in Brockton and Halifax, and graduated from
Whitman High School.

She served in the U.S. Navy at the Pentagon from 1952-1954 and was honorably discharged
with a National Defense Service Medal.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Gatewood worked as an executive secretary in the medical
field. She resided in the Oak Point community of Middleboro, MA from 2000-2020. An avid
animal lover, she enjoyed her dogs throughout her life: Fifi, Bella, Billie and Julie, as well as
her cat, Rascal. Her later years were spent as an active member of the New Horizons
community in Woburn.

Her daughter and son-in-law, Donna Marie Gatewood and Steven Mark Wit of Elkins Park,
PA, and her son, Paul Douglas Gatewood of Chelmsford, MA, survive her. She was the
former wife of Don Douglas Gatewood.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM
in the Central Cemetery, Hemlock Lane (behind the Town Hall) Halifax.
