Caroline P. (Poling) Johnson-Schoenly of Hanson, formerly of Oak Point, Middleboro, died peacefully on February 4, 2018. She was 89.
She was born on July 15, 1928 in Jacksonville, Alabama, daughter of the late Arnold and Mary (Stevenson) Poling. The great granddaughter of Major General John H. Forney C.S.A. Caroline was also a direct descendant of two signers of the Declaration of Independence, Arthur Middleton and Edward Rutledge of South Carolina. A homemaker, she was active in the Oak Point community, where she enjoyed numerous social clubs.
Beloved wife of the late Harry A. Johnson and Newton C. Schoenly. Devoted mother of Forney R. Johnson and his wife, Maureen K. Johnson of Oak Point, Middleboro. Loving grandmother of Kristina F. Johnson and her husband, Kenneth Miller, William Hahn, III and his wife, Amy Hahn. Also survived by great-grandchildren and her friend, Norman Giles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday (February 18, 2018) from 12 Noon until 4 PM in the Clubhouse @ Oak Point, 200 Oak Point Drive, Middleboro.
