Bruce W. Lima Senior, 61, of Middleboro, MA passed away peacefully in the early morning of May 9th, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River with his wife by his side. After fighting a courageous battle against cancer for the last year.
Bruce was born on March 15, 1961 in New Bedford MA to the late Fred and Barbara (Harding) Lima. Prior to retirement, Bruce was an outstanding captain on many scallop vessels out of New Bedford, MA and New London, CT for over 35 years. Although he was a scalloper for the majority of his life he loved building and restoring antique cars, it was his passion. What he enjoyed the most though was spending time with his family and creating memories that would last a lifetime. He’d always make time to take the family fishing and camping because he knew they all enjoyed it.
Bruce is survived by his wife Lynne (Mello) Lima of 40 years. He was the beloved father to Nicole Lima of New Bedford, son Bruce W. Lima Jr. of Dartmouth and Brittany Jones whom he loved as a daughter, also Steven Tomasik, Zach Costello and Travis Lalli whom he looked at as his additional sons. His 7 grandchildren; Jasmyn Jolliemore, Aria Goldberg, Trentin Goldberg, Mason Lima, Bruce W. Lima lll, Benjamin Lima and Braydon Lima. Brother to Fred Lima, Sheila Smith, Junior , Bobby and Danny Thibeault. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held with a car and bike show: June 4th, 2022 at 11 a.m. at 15 Spruce Street, Middleboro, MA
