Barbara Jean (Eitle) Huneck, age 99, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, in Middleborough, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Florence Eitle of Columbus, Ohio. Barbara and her family were longtime residents of Sudbury, Massachusetts, where they resided for four decades before living in Mashpee, Millis, and Walpole.
Barbara was a very creative person who loved to paint, sew, make puppets, and garden. These talents were passed down to her seven children, including the late Stephen Huneck, who was a renowned sculptor, author, and founder of Dog Mountain in Vermont. Barbara was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence Huneck.
She is survived by Judith Lindblad and her husband, Ronald, of Westwood, MA; Debra Acton and her husband, Paul, of Leland, NC; Christine Fleskes of Needham, MA; Susan Cusson and her husband, James, of Westborough, MA; Cynthia Romeo of Walpole, MA; and Paul Huneck of New York City, NY, who will greatly miss their mother. Barbara also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who she cherished.
