Arthur Kenneth Pike

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Kenneth Pike of Middleborough, 
formerly of Brockton and Hyde Park, who passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2026, 
after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Surrounded by the love of his family, Arthur passed 
away at the age of 72. 

Born on February 28, 1954, in Newfoundland, Canada, Arthur emigrated to the United States 
with his family in 1957. He was raised in the Hyde Park section of Boston, where he attended St. 
Raphael's Grammar School and later Hyde Park High School. Arthur embraced the opportunities 
of his new home and built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and an unwavering love for 
his family. 

Arthur proudly served the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for more than 25 years as a Foreman 
with the Massachusetts Highway Department. Beginning his career in Boston and ultimately 
retiring from the Middleborough facility, he earned the respect of his colleagues through his 
leadership, dependability, and strong work ethic. He took great pride in his work and in helping 
maintain the roads and infrastructure that connected communities throughout the state. 

Arthur was known for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and ability to make those around 
him laugh. Family and friends cherished the joy he brought to every gathering. In his younger 
years, he earned the nickname "Party Arty," a reflection of his outgoing personality and love of 
good company. Whether sharing a story, a joke, or simply enjoying time with family and friends, 
Arthur had a way of making people feel welcome and leaving them with a smile. 

Arthur had a special love for dogs throughout his life and was rarely happier than when he had a 
four-legged companion by his side. His beloved dog, Roxi, held a special place in his heart and 
brought him years of friendship, comfort, and companionship. His affection for animals reflected 
the kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit that those closest to him knew so well. 

Throughout his life, Arthur was known for his strength, resilience, and quiet determination. He 
faced life's challenges with perseverance and always sought to provide for those he loved. 
Whether through his work, his friendships, or his role as a father, grandfather, brother, and 
friend, he left a lasting impression on all who knew him. 

Above all, family was the center of his life. He had a profound impact on his children, helping 
shape the people they became through his guidance, support, and example. He taught the values 
of hard work, perseverance, loyalty, and love not only through his words, but through the way he 
lived his life every day. He was a father anyone would be honored to have had—dependable, 
supportive, selfless, and always willing to put his family first. The lessons he instilled and the 
love he shared will continue to guide his family for years to come. 

Arthur is survived by his children, Cole Pike, Jarrid Pike, and Haley Pike; his grandchildren, 
Aubree, Mila, and Nora; his sister, Carolyn; and many extended family members and dear 
friends. He was predeceased by his sisters Alma Cheney, Sylvia Beaton, and Leone Overton. 

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the memories we shared and the 
legacy he leaves behind. His life was a testament to the importance of family, hard work, 
perseverance, kindness, and love. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever 
carried in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

A Funeral Mass celebrating Arthur's life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 340 
Centre Street, Middleborough, Massachusetts, on July 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends 
are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a man who meant so much to so many.
