Arthur E. Harris of Middleboro passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025 at the
age of 87 years.
Arthur was born on October 17, 1937 in Middleboro and was the son of the late
Clarence E. Harris and Dorothy (White) Harris. He was a graduate of Middleboro
Memorial High School, Class of 1955. After graduation, Arthur attended the
University of New Hampshire majoring in Portrait and Wedding Photography.
Arthur owned and operated the Harris Studio of Photography in Brockton for 20 years
and was the President of the Southeastern Massachusetts Professional Photographers
Guild from 1972 until 1973.
Arthur dedicated much of his life in assisting and improving the lives of senior
citizens. He served on the Middleboro Council of Aging Board of Directors for 12
years.
Arthur loved to sing and would always serenade his friends with his chosen songs on
the holidays. He also loved to share the stories of his interesting life and times. Arthur
loved gardening and was proud of the 50 Day Lilies he planted at the Oak Hill Nursing
Home in 1993. They continue to thrive each year.
Arthur was proudly a member of the May Flower Lodge AF & AM for 64 years.
During the last years of his life, Arthur was well cared for by the incredible staff of the
Hannah B.G. Shaw Home and the days before his death, by Compassionate Care
Hospice Bridgewater.
Friends are welcome to attend visiting hours for Arthur on Tuesday, September
23, beginning at 10 AM at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of
School Street) Middleboro. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM followed by
interment at Central Cemetery, Middleboro.
