Alan Joseph Viera of Middleboro died peacefully on April 20, 2025. Butch was 72.
He was born on April 2, 1953 in Brockton, the son of Harold E. and Emily A. (Rosha) Viera and attended local schools.
Butch had a variety of interests and passions, including classic cars, motorcycles and fishing. He was a loyal sports fan, especially to the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. Butch enjoyed spending time at the Cape Cod Canal, relaxing and watching the boats. He and Kelly were married for 35 years. It was Kelly that introduced Butch to the Berkshires, where they visited North Adams and Mount Greylock (the highest point in Massachusetts).
In addition to Kelly, family members include one son, Michael Alan Viera of Plymouth. Butch is the brother of Linda Faria, Debra Viera, Robert Viera and the late Michael Viera. He is the uncle of Harrison Lovell, Lisa Lovell-Hoffman, Paul Bernier and Jessica Rosenfield. Butch is also survived by grandnieces, grandnephews and his two cherished dogs, Rusty and Amber.
