Peter Soroka of Elm Street in Dighton died on May 17, 2017.  He was 99. 

He was born on April 1, 1918 in Fall River, son of the late John and Anna (Cymbala) Soroka and was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1935.  A veteran, Mr. Soroka served in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged, attaining the rank of Sergeant.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed at J & J Corrugated Box Company for 44 years.  Mr. Soroka resided in Fall River for 30 years prior to moving to Dighton and was a former parishioner of St. Peter's Church in Dighton. 

Beloved husband of the late Amelina (Monteiro) Soroka.  Devoted father of Elaine Martineau of West Bridgewater, Peter John Soroka and his wife, Susan of Middleboro.  Adored grandfather of Peter James Soroka and his wife, Fiona Reisman of Brookline, Katie Gates and her husband, David of Lakeville, Krissy Eastman and her husband, Dennis of Brockton, Colleen Soroka of Middleboro, Ray Martineau and his wife, Courtney of West Bridgewater and the late Matthew Martineau.  Brother of the late Stephen and Michael Soroka.  Also survived by 10 cherished great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.  

Visiting hours Sunday (May 21, 2017) from 2-5 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home.

Funeral from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro, Monday (May 22, 2017) at 9 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church at 10 AM.  Interment Saint Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
