Marilyn J. (Pittsley) LaPointe of East Freetown died peacefully and surrounded by many loved ones on May 29, 2018 following a period of declining health. She was 73.
She was born on January 6, 1945 in Middleboro, daughter of the late Eugene H. and Ruth E. (Eccleston) Pittsley DesRosiers, attending local schools. Prior to her retirement, Marilyn devoted more than 40 years as a school bus driver. An avid camper, she secured her passport and enjoyed traveling. Marilyn loved her family and friends, and treasured time with her grandchildren especially.
Beloved wife of the late Raymond A. LaPointe, Jr. and companion of the late Roland Bourgeois. Devoted mother of William C. Dunham and his wife, Rachel Dunham of Washburn, Wisconsin, Mark E. LaPointe and his husband, Jim LaRue of Salem, Rene Brun and her husband, Gary Brun of Gardner. Loving sister of Doreen DeMoranville, Eugene H. Pittsley, Jr., Ethel Pittsley, Karen Wilson,Theresa Pittsley, the late Sharon Braley, Eleanor Campano and Leslie Pittsley. Adored grandmother of Kristopher, Gregory, Samuel, Andrew, Bryce, Lydia and Norah. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
We will be hosting a celebration of mom's life on Sunday (June 10, 2018) from 1-3 PM in The Mitchell Club, 29 Elm Street, Middleborough.
