John J Sullivan, known to his family & children as “Big John” and/or “Papa” passed away on Thursday, March 7th, 2019.
A Mission Hill Roxbury, MA native. Dad grew up in the city working full time at Sears & Roebuck.
John was survived by his wife Maureen of 52 years. John’s mom/dad Anna & Sheamus Sullivan had 7 children, 5 boys and 2 girls. James, Father Tom, Kevin and Mike (deceased). And lucky enough to have two wonderful sisters Ann Marie and Mary Wall.
“Big John” had 5 sons of his own and 1 beautiful daughter. John M., Chris S., Tom W., Scott P., Timothy R. And Kerri Ann.
A loving man and wasn’t afraid to show his unconditional love and support. Dad was a great Father, Husband, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend to so many.
Talented service repairman at Sears & Roebuck and youth soccer coach, John had 30 years of service in both trades, plus 8 years in the Army reserves.
Our family would like to extend a very special thank you to the Dana-Farber foundation as well as the entire staff at Beth Israel Plymouth and Boston campuses.
Dad you are the most courageous and unselfish man we know!

Wake on Thursday (March 14, 2019) from 4-8 PM.
Funeral from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro, Friday (March 15, 2019) at 9 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church at 10 AM. A reception will follow.
