Grace E. (Gates) Gates

Grace E. (Gates) Gates died peacefully and surrounded by her loving family on May 18, 2018 following a period of declining health.  She was 83. 

She was born on January 5, 1935 in Boston, daughter of the late Walter H. and Alice M. (Corbett) Gates and attended Boston area schools.  Prior to her retirement, Grace worked as a seamstress in the garment industry.  In addition, she offered loving services as a caretaker for family members and friends. 

Family defined Grace.  Her constant presence in the lives of those she loved will never be forgotten.  Her loss is immeasurable. 

Devoted mother of Darlene Gates Carmichael.  Adored grandmother of David M. Gates and his wife, Katie, Charlene Gates and her companion Robert Bourne, Elizabeth Gates and her companion Tommy Morrison, Donald Carmichael and David Duarte.  Cherished great-grandmother of Alexis, Anthony, David, Addyson, Paige and Savannah Gates and Tommy Morrison, Jr.  Sister of Gwendolyn, Roberta and Mary, the late William, Robert, Catherine, Alice and Walter.  Also survived by nieces, nephews and their families.  Companion of the late Richard L. Thomas. 

Visiting hours Wednesday (May 23, 2018) from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro, Thursday (May 24, 2018) at 10 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham.
