Frederick C. "Big Freddie" Cassiani, Jr. of Middleboro passed away peacefully in his East Taunton home on Thursday, September 12, 2019 of natural causes.
Freddie was born, raised and educated in Middleboro. He was a graduate of Middleboro High School, Class of 1974. He later went to school and became a certified technician in telecommunications. Freddie worked as a technician installing commercial telephone systems for most of his adult life.
He was involved with the local Slow Pitch Softball community as both a player and a USSSA Umpire. Freddie also enjoyed bowling, where he took part in both tenpin and duckpin. Early in his adulthood he belonged to the horseshoe leagues. He was also a member of many social clubs.
Freddie was a traditional man who loved his family to the fullest. He always looked forward to holidays, celebrations and functions that brought the family together. He had a fun loving attitude and liked a good joke. He had a big heart and would always be there for you if you needed him. He had many friends and he loved his sports "unless you were a Yankees fan".
Freddie is the son of the late Frederick C. Cassiani, Sr. He is survived by his mother: Joan (Silva) Cassiani; his daughter: Sabrina Latham; his son: Shane Cassiani; his son-in-law: Jon Latham; his daughter-in-law: Rusha Cassiani; his grandchildren: Cornelius O'Connor, Taylor Cassiani, Zackary Latham and Vincent Cassiani; his brother: Christian Cassiani and his wife, Pauline; his sisters: Marjorie Souza-Miller, Jean Ibbitson and her husband, Jack and Wendy (Cassiani) Mattie. Also survived by many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and loved ones.
May Freddie be remembered always and never forgotten. May he Rest in Eternal Peace and fly amongst the angels.
Visiting hours on Sunday (September 29, 2019) from 4-8 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
