Emma (Silva) Sylvia of Middleboro died peacefully on October 14, 2018 following a period of declining health. She was 93.
She was born on April 16, 1925 in Plymouth, daughter of the late Joseph and Emily (Perry) Silva and attended local schools. A veteran, Emma served in the United States Women's Army Corps (WAC) during World War II for 1 year and 4 months. She was honorably discharged. A homemaker devoted to her family, Emma worked as a store clerk at the former Mello's Market.
Beloved wife of the late John F. Sylvia. Devoted mother of John F. Sylvia, Jr., his wife, Janice Sylvia and Brenda L. Mason all of Middleboro. Adored grandmother of Carrie Almeida of Dartmouth, Robert Mason of Coral Springs, Florida and Mark Sylvia of Queensbury, New York. Loving great-grandmother of Adyson Mines, Adam Almeida, Erica Almeida, Jillian Sylvia, Andrew Sylvia and Aiden Mason. Cherished sister of Janet Payne of Florida, the late Arlene Bennett and Joseph Silva.
Funeral services on Tuesday (October 23, 2018) at 10 AM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may visit on Tuesday morning (October 23, 2018) beginning at 9 o'clock.
Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery at 2 PM.
