Carmeletia Shirley (Graham) Pitts of Middleboro died peacefully on April 26, 2019 following a period of declining health. She was 82.
She was born on June 3, 1936 in Fosterville, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of the late Raymond H. and Arlene E. (Curtis) Graham. Her early education began in a one-room schoolhouse. Later in high school, she excelled athletically and was a valued member of the girl's basketball team. Mrs. Pitts received her nursing education in Maine before moving to Massachusetts. She was the owner and operator of the former Terri Lorraine Nursing Home in Weymouth. She loved animals, charity work and devoted countless hours and resources to women and children in need.
Devoted mother of Terri Lorraine Lewis and her husband, Gary F. Lewis. Loving grandmother of Jeffrey S. Lewis and his wife, Lauren, Keith A. Lewis and his girlfriend, Ashley. Also survived by her dog, Jolene. Mrs. Pitts is the former wife of Kenneth E. Pitts.
Calling hours are Saturday (May 11, 2019) beginning at 10 AM in the Faith Chapel, Assembly of God, 340 Pleasant Street (Route 104) Bridgewater. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Interment will be private and at a later date.
