William Joseph Condon, 75, of Middleboro, died on October 3, 2011 following a brief illness.

Bill was born in Brockton on March 15, 1936 and was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1954.

He served in the United States Navy (1955-1957) and was honorably discharged.

He married Eleanor Clifford in 1957 and enjoyed 54 years of marriage. 

Bill was the supervisor of ship building at the Charlestown Naval Shipyard until it closed in 1975.  He later worked for the supervisor of ship building  in Boston, traveling throughout the United States and to many parts of Europe and Asia. Bill retired in 1991 as a project manager.  He was a member of the Tin Can Sailors, the American Legion Post 64 in Middleboro and the Oak Point Veterans Association. 

Beloved husband of Eleanor M. (Clifford) Condon.  Cherished father of William J., Jr. and his wife, Diane, Linda, Michael and his husband, Michael, James and his wife, Holly, Susan and her husband, Angelo, Donna and her husband, Gary, Stephen and his wife, Marygrace.  Loving brother of Maureen Condon and Kathleen and her husband, David Cockcroft.  Also survived by 15 adoring grandchildren and a great-grandson. 

Calling hours are Thursday, 4-8 PM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Church.

Interment Saint Mary Cemetery.
