John Russell (Rocky) Johnson of Taunton died peacefully on April 27, 2017 following a period of declining health.  He was 89. 

He was born on April 3, 1928 in Taunton, son of the late Martin A. and Lena (Lincoln) Johnson.  A veteran, Mr. Johnson served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged.  Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a cook and laborer.  He enjoyed playing pool at the Polish club and daily visits to Honey Dew Donuts, where he solved JUMBLE. 

Beloved husband of B. Jeanne (Heneault) Johnson.  Devoted father of Barry E. Johnson of Taunton and the late James R. Johnson.  Also survived and deeply missed by 5 cherished grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday (June 3, 2017) at 10:30 AM in the Faith Chapel, 340 Pleasant Street (Route 104) Bridgewater.
