Jean Barbara (Ashman) Ford of Middleboro died on October 20, 2016 following a period of declining health.  She was 89. 

She was born in Hastings, England to Edward Cecil Ashman and Norah Miriam (Coussens) Ashman.  Jean grew up in Southern England and was relocated briefly to the Glastonbury Monastery as a child during World War II.   She earned a scholarship to an art college but World War II intervened.  Jean was in the Women's Royal Air Force.  She was married in England on June 16, 1951 to John Anthony Ford, a Master Sergeant in the Royal Air Force.  They moved to Canada in 1964 and later to the United States.  Prior to retirement, Jean was a Senior Sales Representative at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, working there for 30 years.  She enjoyed walks, vacations in Maine and Virginia, spending time with friends and family, rug making and knitting. Various clubs also kept her attention. 

She leaves a sister Muriel, her three children:  Linda of Thompson, CT,  Kevin and his wife, Valerie of MT and Gary and his wife, Sharon of Middleboro; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday (November 19, 2016) at 11 AM in the Church of Our Saviour, Episcopal,120 Centre Street, Middleboro. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
